Recertification

Auto dealer recertification is required by the state of Virginia and VIADA will keep you compliant. The VIADA Independent Dealer Recertification Course provides dealers in Virginia with the most up-to-date content. Our course authors are experts in the independent auto dealer industry and the VIADA course is comprehensive at a great value!

Primary changes of the new law vs. the prior regulation:

• Independent dealers will recertify every 24 months instead of 36.
• The course will be instructor-led (in-person or virtual) for 4 hours in duration instead of 6 hours digitally.
• An exam will be given at the end of the course instead of after each chapter.
• Recertification rates are $75 for members and $150 for non members and will be collected at the time of registration. To receive the member rates, please have your VIADA member login at the time of online registration.

Please note:

• There is a $25 cancellation fee for cancellations and there is a NO REFUND policy for no-shows.
• There is a $25 rescheduling fee

Recertification Due Date Verification

This is a list of Independent Dealer-Operators requiring recertification with deadline dates to recertify. Independent Dealer-Operators should receive recertification notices and reminders from the Motor Vehicle Dealer Board in ample time. You may also receive recertification correspondence from continuing education vendors to meet this recertification requirement.
