Immediate Action Required for Awareity Training

Immediate Action Required – More Info From Dealertrack About Awareity Training – Deadline Pushed to 9/15/18

DMV-Mandated Awareity Security Training – ALL Virginia Online and Print on Demand Program users MUST complete this training by September 15, 2018!

The DMV is requiring that processing credentials be turned off for all users who have not completed the Awareity Training by the required date.

DMV initiated mandated security awareness training for ALL users of online registration systems.  ALL service providers, including VIADA-endorsed Dealertrack Registration & Title, are required to ensure that ALL users who have access to online registration and title processing and print-on-demand temporary tags complete this training by September 15, 2018.

For several months, Dealertrack Registration & Title has communicated this requirement to their dealer clients.  According to an update provided by DMV, there are still more than 400 Dealertrack Virginia Reg & Title users who have not complied.  DMV has advised Dealertrack Registration & Title that any users who have not completed the training by the due date must be deactivated.  Please contact all users authorized by your dealership and ensure they have completed this training.

Dealertrack Registration & Title was able to work with the DMV to ensure that training content is relevant to dealers, thereby reducing training time to roughly 20 minutes and minimizing impact on dealer operations.  All authorized users at your dealership should have received an invitation from the VA DMV to complete the training.  If any of your users  did not receive the invitation, and your vendor is Dealertrack, please advise Dealertrack Registration & Title Client Services immediately at 1-800-211-3639.

DMV’s original deadline for this training was August 1, 2018.  Dealertrack Registration & Title worked with the DMV to extend the deadline to September 15, 2018 in order to minimize any negative impact on their dealer partners.  It is unlikely that any additional extensions will be permitted.  Based on DMV direction and this mandate, Dealertrack Registration & Title (and all other services providers) will be required to deactivate any users who have not completed the training and been issued a completion certificate by September 15, 2018.  Click here for the complete list of DMV authorized vendors.

DMV has made this requirement clear and certain for all users of the Virginia online registration and print on demand programs.  Your help in ensuring that your employees have completed this training will allow for uninterrupted online processing.  If you have questions or require further information, please contact Dealertrack Registration & Title Client Services at 1-800-211-3639.

Thank you for your attention to this critical matter.
