Tommie Melendez began her automotive career in 1998 handling all aspects of a fast growing dealership. While the primary focus in the beginning was wholesale, the dealership later expanded to retail, BHPH and a small service department.
Tommie has used her expertise to help other dealers, taking on several different roles that would allow her the opportunity to consult dealers on ways to grow their business. She started with the role of Collection Manager at a new branch location for Federal Financial Services, where she ultimately helped the branch grow into a 10 million dollar location. She was responsible for processing all forms for repossessed titles, warranty cancellations, account payoffs and total loss claims. Her success and industry knowledge quickly advanced her to the role of Business Development at this location. This new role gave her experience in buying loans for a subprime lender.
Tommie’s most recent experience in the automotive industry was in a floorplanning division. She supported 4 branches with a territory covering Virginia, Maryland, D.C., parts of Delaware and West Virginia. She has been awarded the coveted Eagle Award for her ability to exceed her goals for both units floored and dealer growth.
Tommie graduated from Frostburg State University in 1992 and also served as a VIADA District 4 President for two years.
